Expo 2020 in Dubai becomes a partner of Formula 1
Formula 1 announced Monday the signing of a partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai for a period of 14 months.
Expo 2020, to be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, will be the largest event ever held in the Arab world and is expected to host 192 participating countries and welcome 25 million visitors from around the world for 173 days.
The sub-themes of Expo 2020 are: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, which are also topics that are important to Formula 1.
The sponsorship between F1 and Dubai Expo 2020 will involve physical and digital advertising campaigns in seven Grand Prix events in 2020, as the first campaign begins this year at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019.
«We are excited to be working with Expo 2020 Dubai — the largest gathering of nations, multilateral organizations and history societies in the region. Said Murray Barnett, director of sponsorship and business partnerships for Formula 1.
«One of the defining features of Formula 1 is that our events help celebrate the countries in which we run. Expo 2020 is doing the same for 192 countries in an incredible destination. «
«Just like the World Expo, Formula 1 celebrates culture, collaboration and innovation. We are very proud to promote Expo 2020 in anticipation of some of our historic grand prices in 2019 and 2020. «
